Rawns Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 So there I was last night having a fun (and rather successful) survival game of L4D2 last night. On my team were two chaps from Russia and on the other team 4 Brits. They were obviously mates as they were all chatting a fair bit and I was joining in the chat action also. On the second to last map, the two Russians initiated a kick vote for (what I could tell) NO reason which booted me from the game and banned me on that server!!! ! I can only guess it was because I was doing the most damage on the team! Damn annoying though as I was having an epic session and really enjoying it! On the plus side the guys on the other team Msg'd me in Steam after saying they were playing another game after and invited me in. Had a great time after, just being kicked for no reason really annoyed me. Rant over.
Little-Miss Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I play on Xbox and i hate that. I got a load of abuse the once from an american calling me allsorts and then saying the only reason i was playing games online was because i couldn't meet any men in real life. The funny thing is my fella was sat next to me as we were playing split screen on the same team.
FN-GM Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 My brother is into gaming and he has a rant about it every now and then. myself i never go on the games so wouldnt no.
featured_spectre Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I only rant when games match you up unfairly (on ANY port). EG on xbox, my UFC Undisputer / Fight Night Champion. I had never played before, on UFC it matched me up with someone who had 533 wins, 26 losses. On Fight night it matched me up with someone who had over 200 wins and 0 losses. On PS3 at my brothers house, I am at a disadvantage on COD because the controls are slightly different so when I want too zoom, I throw grenades etc (because of the button config being different), and not to mention my account on his machine is rank 40, and I was in a game and I was the lowest rank, the next lowest was Prestige 4. On PC, MW2 does it aswell. I give up with it all now.

The funny thing is my fella was sat next to me as we were playing split screen on the same team. I used to have an Xbox and played GTAIV online. Me and 7 other friends would always play on the same team and we had great time. Once we were up against a group of Americas and we basically handed them their lower regions on a plate. We got so much abuse from them, they were calling us "dirty infidels" and all other manner of things! It was more funny than insulting. If they get that wound up about it when they lose, they should not play at all.

You can join a team full of mid level ranked players and on the other team, most of them are lvl 50's and they all go sniper and pick you off from a distance with 50 Cal's.
X-13 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Things like this are why I tend to do multiplayer with people I've known for a while. E.g : Guilds/clans
Falshire Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 You will always get this kind of clan/guild abuse. Just pick your servers with care or as X-13 said. Play with friends or on the servers where you are well known. Funny thing ,if you play well your a hacker, badly your a noob according to the last player you shot. Just remember a lot of clans have what appears to be either a guy on a powertrip or an 8 year old as a leader.
SYNACK Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Blackops is shocking for team kills, one of your team runs around a corner into your field of active fire getting themselves teamkilled then spends the rest of the match trying to shoot you. Its all 8 year olds ODing on food colouring and softdrink.
GrumbleDook Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 If I get chucked out of my guild on WoW I really have something to worry about. All the toons in it are mine. Actually ... anyone here on WoW Earthen Ring playing Alliance who could help me add a few more alts into the guild?
ChrisH Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 These things are all the reasons I don't do much gaming online these days, I just can't be bothered with the hassle. I played online for 10 years, mostly team based FPS TFC, day of defeat etc etc. Had a long time membership of a clan and to get decent games in the later years you were forced to get you own server so you could control what went on. You couldn't have a laugh much any more as nobody seeMed to have a sense of humour. Other times you would get accused of cheating, just because you were better than other people, it was ridiculous. I know the reason for this decline as well and it's all the younger ones playing online now. They may argue that were too old and sad to be playing games at anything over a certain age but thats an argument for another day. People at least used to have some respect for other players online and would appologise if they aaccidentally Tked you but these days as stated you get these idiots purposely trying to TK you all round /rant off
andy_nic Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 I got booted from an Gears of war 3 beta or Gears of war 2 (can't remember which) game last weekend, just because I went from the bottom of the leader board to the top in 1 round and to top it off they gave me an "unsporting" 100% review on my game card/profile.
Ste_Harve Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 I often get accused of cheating on Blakc Ops, normally though i'm playing with 3-4 people in a party and we all talk to each other about where people are coming from. Makes it much easier on team based modes, but some people really don't like it. I got reported for cheating once due to I went 37-2 on nuketown. I had a laugh literally cos most of them were from killstreak rewards!
CAM Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Used to love Counter-Strike back when I was in an active community with properly enforced rules and sportsmanship. Now people want to make servers just for silly restrictions like no snipers or pistols only on most games. That said, I am a terrible L4D player and had 2 guys trying to votekick me off the server repeatedly. Unfortunately for them the remaining 5 players were friends who had invited me to play. Oh and @GrumbleDook let me know on Steam. It's my old home server and faction.
tech_guy Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Its all 8 year olds ODing on food colouring and softdrink. Lol and that's one of the reasons I don't bother with XBox Live anymore - it's full of little runts and deranged Brit-Haters.
JoeBloggs Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 I used to play counter-strike and when I died I always did an "FPS_DOUG" ..... had to quit for various reasons

They hate me because I block them in corners and fire randomly...much like Kevin from machinima, but I only do it if I am annoyed...lol
