Stuarte Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hi All, Post of IT Network Manager coming up at my place. details here. It is the number two position (reporting to the Head of IT Services - me). The website in the link above is about to be replaced with a new one which reflects the new building/infrastructure etc but until then, feel free to peruse the old one. If anyone would like more info, pm me and I'll do my best to answer any questions. Cheers, Stuart
Stuarte Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) The pay reflects the level of responsibilty. Fundamentally, it is a technical role and, unlike many schools, the role carries very little managerial responsibility. It is the Head of IT Services that carries the managerial can for all aspects of the Academy's IT service delivery as well as being technical lead where required Edited March 31, 2011 by witch
witch Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Please remember NOT to discuss salary etc in a job posting - it serves to make it difficult to see the information you need if you want to apply. You are welcome to start a general thread about this. I would also point out that insulting others is NOT the way to go. I will delete these posts for now but if it happens again there will be infractions and suchlike.
ravens Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Good school and our arch Nemesis as we are in the same area. Lets not get hung up about the salary, it's a good opportunity for someone to learn the ropes without having to deal with too much management or tendering, SLT presentation, project management, strategy etc. Probably not a long service position unless you want to stay at this level. Also, I suspect there are going to be some wild differences in salaries now Academies can set their own rules.
jdoyle Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 should "to inform diagnosis and resolution" be "to perform diagnosis and resolution"?
Stuarte Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Hi Ravens, Thanks for your reply. Nail on the head! jdoyle - yes. thanks for pointing it out.
eddiebaby Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Also, I suspect there are going to be some wild differences in salaries now Academies can set their own rules. At the risk of being told off for discussing salaries in this thread - but since I am responding to a point made subsequent to that warning, and that point hasn't been removed/moderated - I would like to make the observation that there were already wild differences in salaries for similar roles in similar schools and locations. I don't think Academies will change things much in that respect.
ravens Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Stuarte, How did it go with the vacancy? One of my old Techs is fed up with working in the city and wants to return to school life. Is it too late?
Stuarte Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 ravens, Missed it by a whisker I'm afraid. Invitations to interview were sent out yesterday and all accepted so I can't see that the SLT will squeaze in another. Thanks for the heads up though. Cheers.
ravens Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Thanks for the quick reply. Good luck with the interviews.
