Hi Guys

We have recently had a Bird box installed in our school gardens and we would like this to be viewed internally across the school network

Can anyone recommend the best easy solution for this?

I have setup a windows xp P4 machine which will take the video and sound input via USB and I am wondering how i can get this to be shared across the school network!

I tried VLC with no luck unless i was doing something wrong!

Has anyone used something else which is simple?

You can use Ustream.tv and this will put it into a web interface. There is a way to block all other webcam streams but your own, off the top of my head i am unsure how. You can also use it to sream on the internet.

Off the top of my head thats all i can think of.

install yawcam. enable the streaming feature. navigate to http:// computername:8080 this is usually the port number but you can configure this in the settings.

Ive used it here to show some building work that's happening.

I use VLC in Linux, works perfectly. If you are using it in Windows, make sure your firewall software isn't blocking it.
