tech_guy Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 A member of staff has a well and truly borked HDD from her PC at home and it contains all her data. We've tried everything here and it's a job for a specialist data recovery company by the looks of it. Who do you use and can recommend? She knows it's going to cost an arm and a leg.
Bertie_Dellend Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Have you tried the freezer trick? (i.e put the hdd in a zip lock bag in a freezer for a couple of hours). Sounds mad but I have seen it work.
elsiegee40 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I used Fields Data Recovery - USB, RAID & Hard Disk Drive Repair and Data Recovery four or five years ago and they were fine.

Abaddon Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) Fields?? Hell no.. had really bad experience there, trading standards involved (and not only for me) and everything. Fully documented - lost hdd and money. Please contact me directly if you wish. See here for original thread.. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/40745-hdd-recovery.html Look at the link on that thread to another forums posts for other users opinions on Fields. kbage Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Just been looking at their website - thanks for the recommendation! Maybe Google their name first and see the complaints made against them? I has my hard drive "lost" just like the previous poster and now I wish I read the scam reports.
