Hi Guys,

Any advice on getting myself a new work PC. Budget is £400 - £500

Basically just after a Quad core, plenty of RAM. Already have a Graphics card with dual dvi. Possibly Windows 7 prof 64bit OS too.

Found this: with no OS.

Look at building your own, last year I built an AMD phenom x4 3.2ghz black edition, 2TB HDD, 4GB DDR3 Corsair ram, (cant renember exact) and a lovely coolmasters case and PSU. Used my old Graphics card. Cost me around £400 but would be cheaper now and the case wasnt cheap.

UPDATE

Just found my old post on ebuyer forum with my comps spec

Coolermaster CM690 II with Coolermaster GX 650W PSU,AMD Phenom II 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition, Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3, 9800GT 1GB, Asus M4A87TD/USB3 870 Socket AM3 , 2TB Samasung 7200RPM hdds

Absolutely agree with above, that budget will tend to get you something mid-range, but you could build your own pretty beefy PC with that budget. Something like a Phenom II hexa-core, 8GB of RAM, motherboard with decent onboard graphics, fast HDD and a nice case will all come in at that price - just specced up on Ebuyer for around £450 with an SSD also.
