In zero gravity, with no other force acting on it, any liquid will form a sphere - it won't hold any shape it had from a container once the container is removed. Cool video though. 1

MK-2 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 main thing of it being fake (apart from the physics aspect!!) is that he said when you remove the card you get a bit of spillage, but when he removed the cup the surface was spotless. he also twisted the cup VERY fast in the successful one and slowly in the failed ones, hinting at it being edited. plus his finger doesn't actually touch the water for it to collapse, he just moves near it. very good editing though, and i agree its probably aimed at kids who will "try, try again" to get this working in their kitchens at home as a joke
Hightower Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Just a thought, but maybe it's not video editing. Maybe he has added something to the water to give it a thicker skin sort of, thus being able to hold it's shape but still looks like water?

He turns it a fraction to the right (his left) but when the camera looks at the "water" it is spinning in the opposite direction. Very good video editing though.
