garethEds Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Discuss here if you are watching... Take That - not amazing but I'm going to see them in June so hopefully they will practice. James Cordon - don't like him much anyway. Adele - that voice is amazing and if listened to at the wrong time could reduce me to tears. Her face just shows so much emotion. Justin Bieb - don't see what the fuss is about. The girls do so each to their own. I don't think he is that talented. Rihanna - OMG - looked amazing as always. Struggled with her backing track. I like her music and her :-) Ellie Goulding - Great stuff. Great album. Mark Ronson - was that Mark Ronson? So cool. Jessie J - I like her tunes. Spoke differently to what I expected her to (Based on her first video) Tinie Tempah - I like his tunes. Wonderman with Ellie Goulding is good even if it just for her voice and not his. Written in the STars is also a great song. I've also danced my night away listening to 'Miami to Ibiza'. Mumford and Sons - Amazing album. Sounded good live. Plan B - cool. Laura Marling - whooooo? Time to google. Arcade Fire - Amazing. Robbie Williams - Shabba? Shut up you idiot - you are not funny. More to add..... Edited February 15, 2011 by garethedmondson Bored so watching the Brits!!!
bodminman Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Take That - Good lads! James Cordon - Can't see what all the fuss is about. Adele - Have to agree, amazing voice. Bieber - Tool! Rihanna - Again, can't see what all the fuss is about. Sorry! More to add.....
glennda Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I want justin beiber put down even more - not only is he an annoying brat he got a peck on the cheek from both rihanna and cheryl cole shame rihanna mimed half of it though
FN-GM Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I'm not watching but how can Justin Beiber win a Brit? He isn't British!
glennda Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 International something or other I have to say the whole production of the even seemed a bit rubbish - they all didn't seem to know what they where doing!!
copson90 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Glad Tinie Tempah won a few awards. Didnt see Plan b, was he good? going to see him at the O2 next month. British music is getting so much stronger, down with Bieber!!!
AyatollahPies Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I must officially be a grumpy old man as I've never heard of half of the above acts. Bring back Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox.
witch Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I must be getting old too as I don't like many of these - the voices are so 'produced' and unreal. Except Plan B (Ben Drew) who is the son of a friend of mine!
teejay Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Bring back Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox. Yep, two people who struggle to get through doors for different reasons....
Hightower Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 British music is getting so much stronger, down with Bieber!!! British music has been strong for decades. The Six Pistols (changed so it doesn't flag on some people's filters), Led Zeppelin, The Jam, The Subways, some might say The Beatles (not me though), some would also say Oasis.
copson90 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Of course we have legends such as the ones you have just posted. I mean its nice to see British music dominating the charts again, rather then the Americans.
AyatollahPies Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Of course we have legends such as the ones you have just posted. I mean its nice to see British music dominating the charts again, rather then the Americans. Yet is still all sounds alike.
copson90 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Yet is still all sounds alike. Valid point
Hightower Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 At the moment the charts seems like anyone can write a 4/4 beat, with a couple of strings and a voice done with auto-tune and you have a hit. British rock/alternative/pop has always been strong, it's just getting stronger in an R&B kind of genre now (which sounds terrible).
CESIL Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I am definitely getting old...I winced at the OPs use of OMG
