High quality colour laser printer?

Hi all,

hoping for some input if possible. I need to spec up a new colour laser printer for our marketing department.

They currently use an old OKI C7300 LED A4 printer. Quality wise it is fantastic - and knocks the socks off the Kyocera FS-C5030s we have in the staffrooms.

Because it will be used to produce short run marketing fliers/posters and also proofs prior to being sent to external printers, print quality is really the main priority here.

Idealy we would like to get one on contract and pay a monthly copy charge and have the service call out cover.

If anyone has any input or pointer then that would be great.

Cheers. :nerd:

The current Oki's are excellent as well - we have a few of the Executive Series on contract from Fovia and the print quality is wonderful. Quarterly rental + cost per page gets us all inclusive for toner with 4 hour support, though I imagine you can get the ES range from a number of resellers.

Maybe not so much print quality as matching the output of your screen and printer with the output you'll get from the external printers. As such, a Pantone huey (or similar) colour-calibration device for your marketing department's monitors would probably be a good idea - about £100 each, I seem to remember.

You might want to look at the Xerox Phaser range of printers - not lasers, although they look similar, they actually print with wax-like solid ink:
