We had snow at the end of February last year.

We had snow at the end of November last year! That's just unheard of! I don't mean "ooooo, look 1mm of snow", I mean 2 or 3 feet of snow!

Oh god yes. Not just weather-wise which has stretched out since that horrible cold snap from the end of Nov, but just in terms of all the general cr*p that accompanies winter. Everything always goes wrong at this time of year. In the last 3 weeks alone my sister has all but split from her fiancée, mother-in-laws best friend has been diagnosed with cancer, boiler has broken for the third time this winter, dishwasher has broken, cars have cost over £500 on services, home internet broke which turned out to be due to something previous owner did my side of master socket so that cost £130... and there's ongoing (lifelong) badness as well that we're still adjusting to. So a very long winter indeed!

On the bright side, everything's running pretty well in work, sky is blue outside right now, and foo fighters are on my radio right now. it'll get better yet. it's just annoying when it all piles on at once sometimes!

I don't seem to remember much improvment, except for a lack of snow, in between the two. It would be nice to get a good summer this year!

It's winter!! Some of us oldies here who grew up in the 70's will tell you that these really are quite mild still, and besides, I expect we'll have another cold snap before this one is out. Last years seemed to go on until May in my mind!

The generally having no money thing is bumming me out. Although that is due to be rectified soon enough. Good job too, sick of having had the bike in the garage due to poor road conditions. Been dying to get it out and go for a blast along some country roads.

Also wanna buy a DSLR, maybe move out of parents house etc...

Okay so not directly related to the weather but still because of being bummed out about the weather, it means everything else has justseemed even more depressing.

70's I remember those balmy winters. We had just thawed out from the 60s. I'm also old enough to remember London smog and that was unpleasant.

I think mattx will remember the 70s winters as well as we do DB! :D It may not be unusual, but it does get you down a bit.

Summer needed and quickly, bored of staying in doors, getting up in the dark, going hom ein the dark, now ready for Sun, sea and sailing. Oh BBQ's and the fun that we all have too.

I wish I was back in the 70's sometimes.
