I use a canon 450d. Best purchase I've ever made.

On the flip side, if you only had film, you would be financially motivated to get very good very quickly! ;)

very true, but you also have to take in to account I'm tech-minded; how could I not want the latest camera gadgets?! :p

Some nice photos there sippo, did you have an SLR previous to the 450d? I've been considering picking one up on eBay, my NX10's viewfinder is really letting it down...

Nah, just a little compact 12mp camera. I took the plunge last year for my 30th. It was on offer at Jessops for a steal with extra lenses/battery/sd card. So I treated myself.

I'd love to be a sports photographer - one can only dream!

I keep waiting for them to do something similar with the 500D, then I'll get one on finance, unless somebody at my photography club sells their's off cheap: my girlfriend just nabbed herself a 350D with 18-55 and 50-200 Canon lenses, 2 batteries, bag, memory cards etc. for £250! I wanted it myself but haven't got the cash, so now I'm even more determined to sell my NX10 and get a real dSLR! Don't get me wrong, the "compact system cameras" (as Jessops like to call them) take great pictures and seem to have all of the features I'll ever need, but having used a dSLR, the electronic viewfinder just pales in comparison: that alone justifies the extra cost to me!

Have you tried any sports photography yet? I'm supposed to be photographing a mate's amateur boxing match next week, not sure how successful that'll be!

Very nice pic. Cheery axe, too.

Would have looked even better with black velvet on the table.

Cheers, I'll bare that in mind for next time
