ifallon Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Hi just wondered if anyone else has had this wonderful issue. So you open Skype sign in and BANG Internet Explorer continuously tries to open Facebook until you quit Skype. Thought it may be a account issue but have now tried 4 accounts. Any suggestions or similar experiences. Cheers:confused: 1
ifallon Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 After a bit of playing with Skype, turning off the link to Facebook shown in the image below seems to have fixed the issue. http://forum.skype.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=93283&
Martin Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Aha, that might explain why i keep getting a "you are making a secure connection" (or similar) dialogue a few seconds after starting Skype? I'll check this out when i get home! Cheers, mb
Martin Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Double thanks for that one - irritation now removed Never in a million years would i have found the connection between some new "feature" and a security warning (i always warn when visiting HTTPS sites under IE, even though i only use Firefox) during Skype startup. It also irritates me that FaceAche is now appearing just about everywhere, which makes it very easy for them to build up your profile even though you may try to be "anonymous" when you actually use it Thanks again mb
