What do you want to do with it? Multitrack recording type work, as in a rock band. Or softsynth type work, as in electronic music.

Rock band type;

Pro tools (m powered, but requires an m-audio soundcard)

Propellerheads Record

Cubase

Softsynth;

Pro tools (m powered)

FL Studio

Propellerheads Reason

Not to bump an old thread but I'm actually looking for the same thing and didn't see the point in making a brand new one. I've been looking into this and someone suggested Audacity but it doesn't seem to run properly for me (for whatever reason) has anyone any experience with running this on Windows? I was looking at garageband for pc equivalents but this one isn't free although it is pretty cheap has anyone tried dubturbo?
