Morning all.

our music teacher wants to access a site called musictheory.net. With the lessons page, there are a number of different sounds to play. however, they wont play.

ive installed latest flash, shockwave, quicktime, audio codecs and it still wont work.

Could someone check it out for me and see if it plays for them.

go to the site, lessons, then go to the major scale. click the arrow in the bottom right of the screen until the yellow bar highlights "C major is: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C.". to the left of this is a small speaker icon which you can press to hear sound (supposed to anyway)

cheers

James

may sound like a dumb one - have you checked to see if audio will play on above machine and if a midi file will also play, it could be outputting a midi signal (would be a little daft to do this imo, but 2 more things that could help problem solve)

thanks for the test. i have tried it on my machine, my bosses machine, every PC in the music room (about 15). Audio definitley plays. Will try a MIDI file now. I agree with you mjs, I cant see that the audio would be a midi but ill give it a go anyway.

Im running XP with firefox, and IE. neither works. my boss is running 7 with firefox and IE. neither works.

Im starting to think it might be a filtering problem.
