Teacher Sacked for using sledge

Don't know if this was posted and I don't usually post on this forum but felt compelled. This just goes to shows how bad the nanny state is!

Very sad for the teacher, he only did what he thought best, not realising the consequences.

Utterly ridiculous.

 

What next, sacking a teacher for allowing students to sit on a bench in the summer without written permission for outdoor activities and a written risk assessment of the possibility of splinters, or damage to clothing due to chewing gum on seats?

 

Will a teacher next have to ring the head for permission to send a child to the toilet? He might trip over his own shoelaces and remove his teeth when he bites the floor.....

 

Nanny state at work here definately. I'd bet the original complaint came from a parent of a child who probably didn't even get a ride on the sledge!

Now let's not go all 'Daily Mail' about this. It has already been posted and if you read the report you will see that he was eventually CLEARED of the H & S aspect of the case. The school should not have sacked him for the H & S reasons but at least the tribunal sorted that out.

"He was cleared of five charges, including that there was no risk assesment, there was no parental consent and health and safety guidelines were not followed."

 

 

The reason he remains sacked was because he was told not to do something by several people and then he LIED to the headteacher about the incident.
