I've just popped down the bank and on the way from teh car park walked past the Preston branch of Game. Now, I've been giving quite some thought as to dipping my toes in the WoW environment, especially since Shaun showed me it at his house last month.

In Game they had teh WoW Battlechest marked up for £19.99, which includes the WoW install, the Burning Crusade expansion pack and 2 stategy guides. 'Not a bad price' I thought, so took them to the checkout. It turns out they are currently in their sale. For £9.99. I'm now a very happy chappy :)

One thing, the guide for orignal wow will be out of date due to cataclysm.

If people suggest realms I will create a vote thread for us to decide and then I will organise enough of you to come online at a the same time to sign the charter.

I'll be interested in starting fresh again in an Edugeek guild. :)

Reinstalled WoW in Dec after 2 years of being clean (not to mention downloading 12Gb of patches!!!) Then I won a copy of Cataclysm on Twitter so I think it's fate for me to start playing again. ;)

I'd prefer a PvP server as it's always fun questing in joint areas (if your a high lvl horde and bump into a low lvl alliance, "dot dot dot"!!!! >:)

I'll go with the crowd though so whatever is cool. I'll most likely only play casually again rather then be hard core 24/7 as I've just got married and don't want the wife to divorce me after a month for becoming a WoW widow! :p

I'd roll an alt on any server in an EduGeek guild.

I've got a few characters on Karazhan, it's low population, horde majority PvP server.

In fact 4 of the 5 of us who work here play on that server.

I'd consider creating another alt on another realm but I doubt I'd play it much.

I played WoW for years, then I got my life back :)

For 30 mins atleast then I went back to playing SWG and UO the 2 greatest MMO's in existence.

An "Alt" is an alternative character to the one you play most often. So for example if you play the game 1 hour a day everyday and 6 hours you play your Shaman and then the other 1 hour you play your Druid, your Druid would be called an "Alt".

what's an alt? Apart from alternative?!

I started playing the free demo last night, pretty good. It's still that whole paying monthly thing....

If paying monthly is getting to you, you could always buy WoW game cards from most game retailers. Then if you don't feel like playing for a month you just don't top up.

If I know I'm not going to be playing for a month or more I'll cancel my monthly subscription, your characters and progress are still saved (although I'm not sure for how long).

I agree with this, this is what a lot of the students do at my school because they use their pocket money. On the character side of things they are never deleted. I deleted a char of mine and changed my mind 3 years later and they managed to recover it for me.

I would re-roll an alt with the massives...

Does anyone know if you can send heirloom items to your chars on different servers?

If you can't easy way to solve that would be to all roll on whatever server you're currently on. Providing it's not full and no one has any objections.

I'm on Silvermoon currently. It's heavily populated, PvE but I'm in a huge PVP / Social guild where we do Arenas, Rated BGs etc. Silvermoon has like 20k alliance and 2k horde, it's good for leveling as it's so alliance populated. Lot's of guilds recruiting with the +10% experience buff.

If we were all re rolling we'd create our own guild no?

I saw someone mention if they had a good guild for help etc. So would be good if the guild gave us all the added experience gain. Although if we were to create our own, we could level it up to get the same gains, in time of course.
