Couldn't see anything on their site and they haven't responded to my email query yet.

Bahhh, just realized you need an overpriced mobileme account to use the service or you need iOS 4.2 which I have not updated to yet. Will give it a try once I decide to run with the new update.

Arthur Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 just tried downloading it but the site seems to be down fingers crossed its back up soon! Due to overwhelming demand the promotion has ended seven days early. We're sad to announce that we are ending the Christmas promotion 7 days early. The response has been far greater than we ever imagined and it's starting to cause problems for our paying users, which isn't fair. We'd like to congratulate the many tens of thousands of users who managed to get a free license during the 3 week promotion, and offer our condolences to the people who didn't. Any licenses which have been issued will remain valid. Maybe we'll do it again next year (when we can be slightly better prepared)!

HodgeHi Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Bahhh, just realized you need an overpriced mobileme account to use the service or you need iOS 4.2 which I have not updated to yet. Will give it a try once I decide to run with the new update. You can sign up for a free .mac address and then register an alternative address to use for the FindmyiPhone. I use my gmail address instead of the mobileme account. Works quite well as well. Always finds my phone at whichever house I'm at (moms or mine)

HodgeHi Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Not really. you can download Facetime for mac and then create the account that way. Then using this account you should be able to set up the FindmyiPhone app
HarryMonkey Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 So I need an iPhone4 or a Mac or an iPad or a 4th gen iPod. As I only have a PC and a 3GS then I guess I'll just have to make sure I don't lose it.
HodgeHi Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 You could try just setting up an iTunes account. You should then be able to use this for the find my iphone app.
HarryMonkey Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I have an iTunes account but when I try to set up the free MobileMe account on my phone, it says that my hardware is not compatible with the free account. To pay £60 for a year's subscription, I might just as well pay to get the phone insured.
