OWA 2007

Hi All,

 

We have an install of OWA 2007 that supports less than 10 user accounts. Lately I have noticed that when I am typing my username or password on the front page the system seem unable to keep up with the speed that I am typing. I type at what I would guess a normal speed any ICT related person would, I haven't won any awards for speed typing or anything lately that I know of.

 

Just wondering if anyone has noticed this ever before.

I can't say i have noticed this before, but does it happen on every machine you visit or/ only on the one you are using at work?

Also, is this directly to OWA on the server or is it published through an ISA or similar with forms based authentication?

This happens on any machine I use, it is also direct to OWA on the server.

hmm, tried something as simple as an IIS reset?

 

might just be its got itself in a tizz

Yep the server has been reset a few times, we live with it at the moment but when your in a rush to get an email it get annoying. I've known it be as bad as when I type my password say it is 10 chars long it will only recognise 2 or 3.

What Service Pack do you have installed? If you haven't already maybe install SP2 or SP3

Yeah that would be SP2, Try downloading SP3 to bring it up to the latest version. It's a failrly simple upgrade and i've not heard of any bugs that would bring the system down. I'd do that and see how you get on as i've not come accross that kind of activity to come up with any other form of possible fix.

I would have thought that this error would be a client side issue rather than a server side issue as the OWA login page is just a standard HTML form. Have you tried with other browsers? I used to have IE randomly decide to lag what I'm typing back when I was on XP.

Browse to the site from "localhost" on the server.

 

See if the issue happens there, should tidy up wether its client or server.

I guess in away that could also rule out an issue with DNS? try using the IP Address aswell from another client
