We have just ordered a 1gb memory module for a Kyocera FS-5300dn printer. And for life of me cat find out how you get to the memory slot in the printer. I can see where it is located (at the back under the location for the hard drive). So before I start dismantling the printer piece by piece, has anyone on here actually fitted this item and if so how?!

Unscrew the 2 screws (the flatter ones, 1 by power cable and the other by the USB port) and slide the pcb tray unit out the back of the printer, then just stick the memory in.

We got quoted (in May)

256mb £152

512mb £217

1gb £262

We didnt buy them.

Thanks can I ask if you did upgrade, did you get a major boost in the page processing?

The reason is our art department had 5 imacs and 6 windows PC's. It takes the average time on a windows PC, but printing from the mac it takes around 4 mins for the print to come out (printer is installed on the network)

We paid £223 for 1gb ram. we havent had it delivored yet as it is a long lead time. I did see some places offering imatation RAM for this printer for about £70. But didnt fancy forking out for machine specific RAM and getting something which may not work.
