I think at the very least he deserved a season in the premier. I'm red & white too, and although it was a good laugh when Newcastle went down I'm starting to feel sorry for their fans who have had a hard couple of years with Ashley at the helm. John Hall or Mike Ashley - now that's a hard choice!

I'm quite sickened by all of this. I mean despite them being my bitter enemies, I wouldn't wish this on any football club. Mike Ashley needs to go and needs to go this season.

 

If you look at how Sunderland and Newcastle have changed over the years, it's unbelievable. We (Sunderland) have had one of our legends come back to Sunderland with a consortium and buy the club and turn it's fortunes around. Then along came Ellis Short who bought the club from the consortium and seems to be letting People just get on with their jobs.

 

On the reverse they (Newcastle) have had their club sold by Freddy Shepherd to Mike Ashley (a so callled Newcatle fan!!)and he's done nothing but interfere and bring the club own.

He wants to be the manager, as are a few other chairs in the PM at the moment. It's like fantasy football to these guys.

 

Owners of the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal, Sunderland, Spurs (to an extent) have done the best thing by letting the club run itself in terms of the football. Although United are in £500m debt which I am not 'appy with!

It's quite incredible that Newcastle go for a man with more...."managerial experience"...and they bring in Pardew.

 

His experiences are taking West Ham to the Cup Final, albeit just a few minutes away from winning it until Gerrard popped up with a screamer, and Charlton Athletic, who he managed to relegate from the PL.

As @DAZZD88; has said, we're very lucky to have such a passionate man in charge at Sunderland. Steve Bruce was being interviewed on BBC Newcastle last night and he said the reason he came to Sunderland was because of big Niall. He said he's the best person to work for.

 

Also, how often do you see Ellis Short at a Sunderland game. It's just about every home game I see him there, watching his club, and letting the employees do their job without interference. Bruce said last night that "Niall Quinn is a footballing man, and because of this he knows there are ups and downs, and he just lets you get on with your job".

 

I think Sunderland have one of the best boards going in English football today, and wouldn't wish the powers of Mike Ashley on any club. It must be horrible for the supporters.
