From my experience, dont go cheap, it doesnt work.

 

I'd stick to a recommended hotel. There is a travelodge, but they can be very "basic" for your £19 a night. Premier Inn are better but nearest one is by Euston or KC station

Premier Inn in London is where I will be staying next time in london. Won't be staying at a travellodge again after the state of the sheets when we got there! :(

I've used a Travelodge at Tower Gateway that was fine, bit noisey until the tube and DLR stopped. The Edugeek Ironing committee would be appalled at the £5 hire cost of an iron though! A Hair Dryer was the same price needless to say it was left to dry naturally in the walk around the corner to the conference centre I was to be at that day :)
