Best PDA / Smartphone

Im looking to purchase a smartphone/PDA, prefrence to smartphone so i can replace my smasung e900 mobile to i dont have to carry around to devices. I travel a fair bit and need to collect emails regularly and take notes, manage taks etc..

 

must havs are Wifi, bluetooth decent internal storgae with expansion slots?

and windows compatible.

 

Any ideas? tips on suppliers?

I'm not sure of a device based on all of your requirements. But you may wanna look at the "Blackberry" almost all those people you see on the Tube in fancy suits most likely working for an investment bank is using one. So there must be something good going on there.

 

Alternatively, you may want to look at the O2 XDA. It's literally a PDA with Phone capabilities.

I have an 02 XDA (HTC Wizard) Which I like. Sure its a bit bulky but it does everything I need. I would like the newer one though with the 400mhz processor though for such stuff as calculating routes in TomTom etc as its a bit slow at present.

XDA Exec here... brilliant for everything I've tried, but mostly for sync'ing with Exchange etc.. Runs TomTom just fine, but yes, a little bulky. I can live with it for the features though.

Get a T-Mobile MDA Vario 2

3G/wifi/ms mobile 2005/exchange sync/2 megapixel cam/video call/bluetooth

If you want more info search for the HTC Tytn, its basically the dogs.

I have one and would not change it for anything, and yes 3g does make a difference if/when you get the signal. Not for the video calling, more for the fast stable active sync. With T-Mobile you pay £7.50 a month and get 2 gigs of data transfer on it too (which means you can listen to net radio on the way into work)

RDC is also build in and so is VPN support (but I aint figured it out yet)

If you can hang in just a few months the Nokia N95! It has 5 meg camera, it's running symbian so there are plenty of programs you can get for it.

 

As for geek toys it contains a GPS reciever and WIFI saving you on downloading cost of 3G. That's the cool thing it's 3G.

 

I don't know what classes a phone as a smart phone though?

I blagged a Nokia 9300i on an upgrade nearly a year ago. Its still going strong.

 

The reason I got this, is becuase I have a nokia car which this fits into.

 

I sync it with my Home pc and works well with outlook, i can open and edit word and excel documents. Plus connect to wifi

 

It has been dropped a bit but becuase it was free i've not been afraid to take it out and use it!
