Just wondered how many others have to work Saturday's?

I work in a private school, and have to do 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, which I actually don't mind too much, as it means I get 2 half days per week! Although, it does make it a long week when I am on :(

Feel sorry for the students who have to have lessons on a Saturday though, they should be watching "Swap Shop" on Saturday morning TV!

*for those of you under 40, Swap Shop :o

When I worked in the Independent Sector I worked every Saturday Morning in term time and it sure does grind you down and make for long weeks. I don't now in the state sector, but do sometimes have to do other things on a Saturday morning such as catch up on work, do Server reboots during reporting times and open up and lock for school lettings (its a rota I am happy to be on)

I too work in an indpendent. Weekend working is voluntary though. I don't mind working the occasional saturday or sunday, as it often means I can get on with server maintenance without distractions.

That is... until teachers start coming in voluntarily at weekends and putting pay to that!

Every Saturday morning. However the HoD here insists that we take TOIL during the non-term weeks we work. This in fact means it is quite hard to do any project type work, and take our holiday allowance.
