New Artificial Christmas Tree - Normal or Pre-Lit?

Hi all, after 7 years service I don't think our tree will stand another Christmas so I am going to buy a replacement this year.

 

Things is, are pre-lit trees any good are just not as good as putting your own lights on? Opinions / suggestions appreciated.

Put your own lights on... Christmas tree lights are notoriously unreliable. Having to throw away an expensive tree because it won't light up would be a pain.

Normal one definitely. We had a pre-lit one and the lights were a nightmare. Ended up throwing the thing out and buying a normal one and a string of lights - which are now as cheap as chips anyway.

You could always buy a pre-light one and when its lights go wrong just put normal ones on it instead?
