Swinton High and Moorside High set to merge into Salford super-school - Manchester Evening News

A new ‘super-school’ will be built, despite the threat of government cuts.

A controversial proposal to merge two schools in Swinton was approved by Salford council’s ruling Labour cabinet yesterday.

Swinton High and Moorside High will be replaced by a new £25m, 1,350-pupil school built on Moorside’s playing fields.

New school has 1350 places

On a more serious note, when you take staffing costs in to account the £25m build will pay for itself reasonably quickly. Of course the redundant teachers and support staff might not see it that way!

oooh shiny new school Just think of all the technology that will be in it to support Gatt! All those netbooks for students and teachers, learning Pods, wifi all over with no wires to be seen.....
