Gatt Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Swinton High and Moorside High set to merge into Salford super-school - Manchester Evening News A new ‘super-school’ will be built, despite the threat of government cuts. A controversial proposal to merge two schools in Swinton was approved by Salford council’s ruling Labour cabinet yesterday. Swinton High and Moorside High will be replaced by a new £25m, 1,350-pupil school built on Moorside’s playing fields. I love this comment as weill Moorside has 800 pupils Swinton has 971 pupils Total 1771 New school has 1350 places i think the council needs a maths teacher
tmcd35 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 On a more serious note, when you take staffing costs in to account the £25m build will pay for itself reasonably quickly. Of course the redundant teachers and support staff might not see it that way!
john Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 oooh shiny new school Just think of all the technology that will be in it to support Gatt! All those netbooks for students and teachers, learning Pods, wifi all over with no wires to be seen.....
farmerste Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 sounds like a f**King nightmare, poor quality equipment with poor connectivity, also running win7?, that would make it poor everything then- lol
