need advice on how to restore sysvol folder on only dc

how do you restore the sysvol folder?

windows 2000 server running as a only domain controller

Do you mean to do a directory restore? Be very careful, get it wrong and it is bye-bye domain.

i have my own test environment at home and want to know how i would restore just the sysvol folder if ever it went corrupt or the permissions were accidently changed on it.

Would i need to do a system state restore or could i just restore a backup i have created using NTbackup

Its an option on the same menu as safe mode etc
