Multiple email accounts with OWA

We are using Exchange 2003 with Outlook Web Access.

We have set itup to use basic authentication rather than windows integration. The reason for this is so members of staff with more than one email address can log onto either without logging off the PC, and without us messing about with mailbox rights.

 

Question is: is there a way of allowing someone to keep two Internet Explorer Windows (or tabs) open, with each one logged into a different mailbox? Currently IE remembers the logged on user and opens a second window with the same credentials.

use different browsers - or use one in outlook and one in OWA - or use a full blown app like outlook for access to both mail boxes via imap?

I've never been able to open separate accounts at the same time.

 

BTW make sure you're using SSL if you're only using basic authentication or your username/password combinations can be easily sniffed

Different browsers would probably do it, but the idea of using OWA is for simplicity, so it probably goes against the grain a bit.

We are using SSL, so not worried about password sniffing.

Upgrade to Exchange 2010 SP1. I've just tried it and I can access more than one mailbox at the same time.

You can open up other accounts in OWA if you have access to the mailbox.

 

In OWA, If you click on your name it will bring down a Drop Down box where you can open another mailbox.

EDIT: oops!! mis-read your using Exchange 2003, in which case i cannot remember if you get the same option.. :|

Only works in 2007+, and involves granting access rights on mailboxes which the OP stated was a no-no.

Aslong as they have full access permissions I think you can do it while logged into the first account - open another window and after domain.com/owa/putsecondusernamehere or something like that - We did it once at my last place for somebody.

Sessions? In Internet Explorer (v8.0 and v9.0), go to the File menu and select New Session. This enables the user to sign in to multiple accounts at the same time with different credentials. To do this using a shortcut you could use commands like the ones shown below...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I've found a way of doing it. If the user adds the URLs of their various email accounts to their favorites (eg. eg. intranet/exchange/reception intranet/exchange/admin) they can open each one in a separate tab. They will then be prompted for each username and password.
