I think you posted this in the wrong place, this is the Apple Mac forum.

 

I actually use firefox on both Windows and on Mac, to try and keep things similar whatever system I'm sitting in front of.

Keep both. Even if you don't use IE7, it is still advisable to have it as it is the latest version as it will be the one that will be supported for the longest.

I'm not too fussy - IE7 is better with some sites - FF is better with others...

Keep IE7 for if you need to use OWA at any point. Firefox is hateful with it.

 

But firefox for owt else you care to throw at me (about 95% of the time)

Not quite. Have you read the known issues?

 

Anyway isn't the question missing something. How many tech staff actually take the time and effort to really remove IE from Windows, not just the icon.

 

For student computers it's not really worth it as LUA normally takes care of most issues.

 

For staff computers it's not really viable as you still need IE as the HTML rendering engine for Office and some MIS apps like SIMS.net

You can run both in tandem but you are still effectively be shackled to IE.
