30 miles door to door, around 1hr 20 most mornings, and between 1 or 2 hours depending on when I leave, it varies wildly.

Very different to my previous 2 mile, 5 minute commute! Thankfully I should be moving closer in July

3 minute walk.

I'm a little more extreme than mats and it takes about 45 seconds to cycle (by the time she's safely locked away!)

About 350 metres looking at Google Maps...

:ohwell: 50MPH for an hour = 50 miles... It takes me 40 mins to do 12 miles, and the speed limit of 70 doesn't help one iota! It is all down to all the other traffic that is in my way!

I travel 10 miles by Motorbike from Dartmoor down into Plymouth.

Takes about 25 minutes on a good day, 35 on a bad one.

It's nice on sunny days, and just about bearable on wet ones.

I hope that helps!

N/E Bristol to S Bath (21 miles) takes up to an hour each way, but then I quite like driving (my car's a nice place to be in) as long as there isn't too much waiting in gridlocked traffic jams (which is just boring).

I am an unusual Network Manager I think.

I work 3 days per week at a school 28miles away. I take 1.5 to 2 hours door to door each way involves a 2 mile Cycle to the Station then train into Birmingham then a 2nd local train out to the school. About once every 2 weeks I drive just for variety and I can do some shopping on the way home. I go off peak which saves a lot of money but the ticket still costs £10:20 per day. The train fare has doubled in 5 years. I start late 11am and finish late 6:30 to 7pm which I find works better with I.T support when everyone is off the system and can get into classrooms easier. I can put up with it part time. I also do a lot of work from home via VPN link when everyone is off the system so the school has had no downtime in the last 3 years. You cant beat public transport for a rolling show of entertainment.

Work this one out then.........

Door to door it takes 1 hour 20 to get to work but 4 mins to get home. ;) With a very smug look on my face - I go to the gym on the way in!!!
