How to remove staples ?

How do you go about removing staples from skirting boards and around your door frames? I was thinking of using pliers but they don't exactly grip the staples very well and I don't want to damage the sky aerial wire.

 

Any ideas?

Needle nose pliers work for me, they seem to get a better grip than their full width counterparts.

Cable Snips / Wire Cutters get down close and cut one side so you can paint over it and not see it and pull the other side out

for the first step I usually use scissors or knife and then combination pliers.

Coming from a long line of education professionals, I am happy to have found a tool that is apparently brand new called the Staple Jack on Amazon, which I found to be by far the best solution for staple pulling. It is like a pliers and has pinpoint tips that are much more precise than any needle nose. Tell me if you don't thank me later for this tip!
