Approving WSUS Updates

How have people currently running wsus got it setup?

 

Do you just auto approve all updates or go through them and approve them individually.

 

I've just installed it here and I've got my PC setup to update via my wsus server at the moment but short of approving all updates I'm finding hard just to find and approve only the ones this machine needs.

Auto approve everything. I still have to manually go in occasionally and check it for updates that must be manually approved or declined. Also I like to keep an eye on the machines. Make sure there are no broken ones, etc.

I setup the server to manually synchronize the updates, but I manually approve them.

 

I look through them manually, remove any updates that we don't want near our machines (IE7, for example), refresh the Updates list with the status 'not approved'. I then select all of the updates I haven't removed and approve them.

I think people would want my blood if I auto approved everything - I hear enough moans when theres just a few Ive approved!

I manually approve the changes... but it can be a pain if there are lots.

 

If installing from new I'd set up for auto install until the updates are all down and then switch back to manual.

Depends on when you schedule the installations I suppose.

 

Because I've only just set it up there were hundreds of updates it said was available.

 

Even though I had only selected the platforms we used and none of the x64 ones it still showed those.
