t_guest Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 every one tells me limewire is good but i had a look at my friends pc and seen loads of pop ups and porn on the screen due to limewire can you advise me in the best music download software
russdev Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 errm maybe buying the music is better option... Most file sharing software wll give you rubbish as people put files up there that are full of virues etc.. Russ
ChrisH Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I assume you are asking about music that you have to pay for or free music else this thread will have to be locked or deleted
MkII Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 For legitimate downloads open source is the way to go - emule etc.
Geoff Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 If you wish to use Bittorrent I find utorrent to be the best option. (Even to the point where I use it in preference (with Wine!) to Azureus on Linux!). For other P2P networks I find that clients to be dire and the speeds terrible. The only one that's worth it is the Donkey network. The best windows client is probably eMule. You can find it on sourceforge.
sidewinder Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 P2P is a waste of time now, too much hassle Best way is to pay a few quid and use newsgroups, and get everything you want at full speed

I use this now: http://www.panic.com/unison/ It's £7 a month, but I can get great download speeds and all the info I need.
