Move wordpress install onto server

This is fairly urgent (Needs to be done monday latest)

 

Seems our Citrix server aint working, so will have to go in

 

 

Ok I made the new school website on my computer (instead of mucking up the moodle install on our webserver)

 

 

Now the head has agreed with the finished outcome

 

How do I move the wordpress install on the server?

 

 

On the computer I made it with, I went lazy and used xampp (ampache, php 5.3, my sql)

 

On the webserver it has IIS7, my sql, php 5.2

 

 

Is there anything wrong using older version of sql and php? (Im assuming we have an older version of mysql now on our server)

 

 

 

So guys any idea how to move it to the webserver?

When I moved an install between servers in the past I copied the files and moved the mysql database - I think I've done it from the command line (on my own server) and using phpmyadmin.

 

Wordpress can get by on php 4.3 and mysql 4.0

Be careful, new versions of WordPress will soon only support at least PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5, so make sure you have these, otherwise you could have problems upgrading in the future (and esp. if you have to for security reasons). See WordPress › News » PHP 4 and MySQL 4 End of Life Announcement

I've got a few IIS installs of WordPress and haven't had any problems - you may find it easier to download the Microsoft Web Platform to get all the PHP/MySQL addins you need (if you haven't already).

As far as I'm aware all you need to do to move over the install is copy + paste and then search your WordPress database for all mentions of your previous install and swap them out for the new server/domain name.

With wordpress (and I've done a few server moves in the past with it for clients) so long as you have the requirements on your server it will work.

Thanks managed to sort it now, just done it from scratch again, made it easier plus all the links were all wrong because it was on localhost, not the domain name.
