Arthur Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 I was thinking of posting a link to the RC, but decided against it when I saw Felix Kühne's blog post saying the final version should be out this week. Since it's Friday today, I'm guessing not? It does look good though compared to the old version. http://i.imgur.com/ZN5P9.jpg

Urghhh, one of the reasons I like VLC is because it's simple.
mac_shinobi Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Will remove and re install the actual release when it is released Your GUI looks different to mine

garethEds Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Oh great more staff training needed when we roll that one out then With a bit of luck they will MSI it already. Saves having to faff about. GJE
Arthur Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 What's going on with that iTunes look!!!! Urghhh, one of the reasons I like VLC is because it's simple. Your GUI looks different to mine There's an option in the preferences to switch between the black and grey skins, and if you double-click an audio or video file associated with VLC, you don't get to see the sidebar. I'm not a fan of the new playlist/media library sidebar either - I wonder if it can be be hidden? Also, why are Videos/Music/Pictures prefixed with the word 'My'? I'm using OS X, not Windows XP!!! I think they should have simplified the UI even further or at least taken the time to make it look like a native Mac app... http://i.imgur.com/mYXC1.png http://i.imgur.com/bdqFS.png http://i.imgur.com/Dbh2k.jpg Oh great more staff training needed when we roll that one out then VLC 2.0 on Windows looks more-or-less identical to VLC v1.x.x. It's only Mac users who get the new UI. http://i.imgur.com/zz0uc.png 3
Arthur Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 With a bit of luck they will MSI it already. Saves having to faff about. The NSIS installer is still used for v2.0 on Windows... git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=history;f=extras/package/win32/vlc.win32.nsi.in

mac_shinobi Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Had to trash it - keep getting errors when quiting and re launching, going to stick with 1.1.2 for now on OS X. No option to get it to read from my hard drive for my videos or anything like that.
mac_shinobi Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Downloaded MPlayerX --> MPlayerX - The media player on Mac OS X with new eye-candy fashion
