sippo Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 We have some old projectors, Philips bsure sv2. I'm guessing the best place to sell them would be on ebay? What about other equipment like switches. Any recommendations?
3s-gtech Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Tried offering them to local primaries? I know some of ours don't have much equipment, as their IT budgets are tiny.
sippo Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 I could do, but they have no mounts. Not really good enough for schools anymore. What about these ebay resellers? They take 35% cut, but do all the 'legwork' for you. I haven't got an ebay account so makes sense.
Rydra Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Ebay account takes minutes to setup. Only reason for the resellers is for the rep, and if you register the name as the school, you shouldn't have a problem building up the rep. I just don't trust a lot of these 'resellers' with huge rep figures, as I'm fairly sure a lot of them are faked/bought from the old times.
sippo Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 But its a lot of hassle and time consuming to do. Thats the jist of it. I just haven't the time, and I need the space. If I can get anything to bolster my budget then its all good.

Where thinking of doing this for our school, do you know if it has to be a business account etc or can you set up a basic free account?
Andrew_C Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 If you are selling on behalf of a business (are we splitting hairs here? I think a school is in this case) you need business account. You must set up a Paypal account that then can take money out of a bank account without reference to you in the case of refunding a purchaser. Sometimes purchasers have been known to be less than honest in their claims. I'm looking into this with the aim of selling some old science kit (some of it very old).
TechSupp Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Are there any of them just usable for spare bits as I need a coloured lens screen (best I can describe that part!) from the inside for one of ours.
