Does anyone know how to change the default save location where imovie 09 saves the projects to I would like it to save to an external hard disk drive instead of the internal hdd

We had a similar problem on our network. We wanted to try and save to a network drive instead of the hard drive.

 

I wasn't able to find a solution to this, despite talking to an Apple Qualified Expert (not Apple Directly though)

Pretty sure its the same as '08 - ~/Movies/iMovie Projects and ~/Movies/iMovie Events - we have ~/Movies point to the HDD because the performance over the network would probably be horrible, you can easily move these files/folders between macs/network drives and they will pop up next time you open imovie (make sure people are using unique project/event names).

I use a great bit of software, although not sure how it works for multiple users etc.

Amongst other things, it allows you to set the default save path per application / for all applications / etc. Very useful.

iMovie doesn't have a 'save dialog'...
