yeah open it and loosen the heatsink so it rrod's then send it back..

 

ive got one at home at the moment where theres no video being shown but the sound works, no red lights, ill be sending it to them once its got rrod

I lost all faith in my Elite after it RROD'd & haven't used it since it came back from its little holiday. Keep meaning to trade it in at Game or Gamestation.

I would call them back and just explain that as you got off the phone and you tried it again you got the RROD ( with some tweaks as above )

They check the seals, I have been looking into it.

 

Amatures, you just wrap it in a towl so that it covers the vents, turn it on and start playing a game or simply leave it running. This leave the seals intact and will happily allow the CPU/GPU to massivly exceed their heat thresholds causing a RROD.

thing is.. wrappign it in a towel will probably fix your dodegy screen for a short while(maybe a few months even) as it will kind of reflow the chip.

 

or keep playing, leave it on while your at work and hope it finally show e74 (gpu is e74 and will be two red lights, this is also coverd by the 3 yr warrenty)

Im going to trade it in for a new one... I have something like £80 on my game card so it will pay for it self... just no xbox for a month to make sure it works when they test it lol!

Think it was £138 with a play and charge kit (dead battery) and an extra controller (left thumb stick press faulty). I'm sorry whoever buys these next, but its Games fault for poor QC

im selling my arcade to my brother for £100 which is cool looking forward to finally being able to save multiple games to hdd and have room for more dlc! of and ofcause wireless and quieter gaming, all i need now is a hd sky box and all my entertainment kit matches inm glossy black (tv, ps3, freesat and new shiney xbox)
