john Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks for that, also looks good stuff, especially as I am looking at using WSS V3
GrumbleDook Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Also have a look (or rather a listen) to TechNet Radio
ICTNUT Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 I have lready upgraded to WSS v3 and I must say at the moment I am really impressed with weaht I see.
GrumbleDook Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 We have just shelved a major project with 2 other schools as moving to Sharepoint Portal (the whole MS Learning Gateway) would be a tad too expensive ... so we are trying a few things out with WSS instead. We will still be able to vreate SCORM materials to share between schools ... and I almost have the Head's agreement that all school created materials with be Creative Commons or similar ... just got to fine tune the agreement.
beeswax Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I was going to use WSS for the Staff intranet and attempt to implement the Helpdesk and various other features which would go some way to satisfying BECTA's FITS Framework. I'd be interested to read other people's ideas for developing this along with a VLE.
john Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Just installing WSS V3 now, lets see how good it is!
ICTNUT Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 As of 31st December 2006 Microsoft have officially with drawn all support for product Class Server (all versions): http://www.learninggateway.net/Resources/Class%20Server/Class%20Server%20Notification.pdf Those of you that have it will still be able to use it to produce/author content for SLK and import it in however there are a couple of authoring tools coming out just after BETT that will do the job also.
