multiple vnc viewer

Hey all

 

We are running VNC on machines here and to be honest, im getting sick of viewing one screen at once, is there any free software that will allow you to view multi screens through on manager.

VNCon is pretty good (though you can get interesting problems when users try to cut and paste if their screen is being watched).

I'm using VNCScan - a single admin licence worked out at about £35

Very handy to monitor what the kids are up to

Also like the remote process viewer/killer - handy when u have blocked a website

Im try VCNon at the mo but it doesnt save your settings when you exit the software. How on earth do you get it to do this??

Have you tried LanView by MST? You do have to install a client on each machine but it has many useful features with VNC as part of it. They also have ready made MSI's too to make life easier.

 

You can set the server to bring up a vnc window each time you click on the selected client, make groups, control internet access, WOL, send messages....

 

PS Its free too!!

If what you mean is does Lanview server store the password so you don't have to input it each time, then yes, its in the Options under Security & Custom Messages. Providing the password is the same throughout your network that is!

 

If you already have VNC installed on the client machine it should connect OK using the password you setup when you installed VNC.

AFAIK that needs to be setup on the client side. There should be an option that asks the user to accept/deny connections and this needs disabling.

 

If you use one of the ready made VNC packages from the MST site & redeploy this around your client machines it will have all the correct options ticked/unticked along with a default password, which you can request from them & then change yourself.

That's a shame really as it could have been very useful.

Still, the program does have its uses. Its saved me many a trip down to the other end of the school for very minor things.

With IE7, the internet control now works, if you add iexplore.exe to the list of banned apps.

We use Bozteck VNC Manager because it can also put screen shots into a thumbnail view so that we can monitor all of our computers at a glance.

I tried that software, good piece of kit but you have to pay for it, where as Lan viewer is free

We have ultravnc on all laptops and computers in school and use a product called smart code VNC manager to be able to look at multiple pc's at once.

Been using about 6 months find it stable and it wasn't that expensive.
