AnyComms yes, GroupCall no.

AnyComms, install it on a 32bit client, copy it to the 64bit machine. AVCO do have a nice 32\64bit MSI installer now.

The people at Avco (the firm behind Anycoms) are LOVELY and I really do mean that! Our exams officer and I really like them! I moved from RM's Securenet to Avco's Exam Centre and its been bliss ever since in the Exams office!! (and it was cheaper!) The technical support people are brilliant, really helpful and know there products. If NYCC (who provide Anycoms btw Tim to us for the central returns to them) haven't got anything give Avco a ring and see if they can give you a hand :)

NYCC have on the IT Website (once you've logged in) the GroupCall X64 stuff so I can see (not that I can remember my logon details from home to check but they have an article on X64 Groupcall so they must have an answer about it :)

Groupcall does work and is supported, with Anycomms, on 64bit.

I spoke to their Technical Support Lead at Groupcall (can't remember his name!) after speaking to my LEA. They remoted in and installed the new version of Groupcall (it's all based in a shiny MMC) just to see if it worked.

Groupcall (the x86 version) did install on our server, but the problem was is that it was running in Session 0 - so it was not configurable as it didn't display a GUI

Hope this helps

Groupcall Xporter X3 has been designed and developed to operate in Windows Vista / 7 / 2008 Server environments (32bit and 64bit) which will overcome the issue described in this thread

Should you experience any issues with installation / configuration of Xporter please email: [email protected] or call 0203 328 4615

Thank you for the details :) Nice to have Groupcall come here to advise. Do you know if our LA has upgraded / supporting system for the new version you refer to? Both myself and Timbo343 are North Yorkshire and at times they are very slow to upgrade as they don't have this version listed on there website for our use.

I had exactly the same issue as you. We are the first school in our LEA to run Server 2008 x 64 and it didn't matter at the LEA end (they hadn't upgraded their systems...) - Groupcall just installed/gave us the new version (they wanted to test it...) and it worked.

Cheers, I suspect timbo343 maybe the first, well one of the first as I know from our last IT Managers meeting there are a few going 2008 R2 this summer, and I am as well so will be needing it. I thinks I will just give groupcall a buzz then :)

Well we are all 2008 r2, bar one 2k3 r2 server for Successmaker, and the SIMS server (which runs the Groupcall stuff) only runs on 2k8 because CAPITA don't support R2 :-(.

Calling Groupcall should do the trick, although I don't know whether they will speak to you if a call hasn't been raised with your LA support team. They are very helpful though :)

I don't have until next Christmas to wait for that to be resolved / updates / approved :p , I think were a few releases of Anycoms behind as well :(

In the worse case I will get @timbo343; to deal with it and send me his info hehe

Hi John,

Did you get anywhere with a 64-bit download for AnyComms?

We've got Groupcall going on our 64-bit 2k3 server, but AnyComms says no. We don't have a full support contract so we don't get a login to schoolsict's website unfortunately; however they still moan when we don't upload our groupcall return!

Hi Peter, yes is the answer, its been running fine on our 64bit machines. I'll email you the info from Schools ICTs website for you and a link to the latest version they send out. Strange they won't give you a logon we only have RM Finance from them and are an ISP Support only place.

As Matt said, if you install Anycomms onto a 32 bit PC and copy the 3 folders over from C: to the 64 bit PC, it will run. :)

Cheers,

Pete
