Maverick79 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 This looks like a great opportunity, is there an actual figure for the salary?
Geek_of_HeathMount Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I asked this question and was told it was based on experience.
Jiser Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) That would be sweet. Live there for a year. Shame SIMS is so [edited] Language!!!! Dos_Box P.S. I'm far to fragile this morning to be doing this!! Edited June 10, 2010 by Dos_Box
vikpaw Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 This looks like a great opportunity, is there an actual figure for the salary? I asked this question and was told it was based on experience. In this region, it will add at the least 5-10k to your salary if you have the right skills, but even if you end up on the same that you're on now, you will not pay tax, saving ~ 20% and get free housing, no bills, so you can stay on the same salary and still double your take home Don't ask, just apply. Trust me, 'ana tabib'. 1
oggster Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks for your reply Vikpaw. Sorry I didn't see the posts and respond to them, had a hectic few days! I cannot say exactly what the salary is as it does depend on who applies and their experience. I can say the post is payed on a teachers payscale so that should give you a ballpark figure. Vikpaw is correct in what he says about the other benefits plus we get free leisure facilities (swimming pools, gyms, squash and tennis courts) as well as subsidised food at any of the four community restaurants. All in all I don't think many people would be disappointed in the package if they were offered the role. Vikpaw - Iwill get round to replying to your email soon. Your feedback is useful so thats for that.

vikpaw Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Good luck everyone that does apply. I look forward to welcoming you to the region, and the Middle East regional group 1
jimmy_2k Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Whist I don't qualifiy as a SIMS manager, I know some families who live out in Qatar and I used to live in Cyprus. If you get offered a job out there.... Take it, you won't regret it!! 1
oggster Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) jimmy_2k - the fella that got the job is currently on a plane thats due to land here in a couple of hours! I agree I don't think he will regret the decision to come out here, I am biased as I made the same decision and am loving it. I came back to the UK in the beginning of the summer and while I had a good time everything did seem to be doom and gloom. Don't know when or if I'll ever return to the UK... vikpaw Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hope all goes well oggster I don't think i'd like to return to the UK either... ever! Not to live anyway; visiting friends is a must, until i can get somewhere it's easier for them to visit me.
