cwade100 Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 HELP! Hope someone out there has had this issue before and maybe able to help me out. I have emailed the makers of Abacus but to no avail. Please find the email below: Dear Sir/Madam, I am contacting you regarding your abacus evolve iplanner, and the iplanner server. The school has purchased a new server which we have installed this week. We have migrated them from server 2003 to server 2008 sp2 (32 bit). We have tried re-installing the iplanner server and moving the mdf and ldf over to the new server, but we are having issues with the clients connectings. We had to rename the old server before migrating the data to the new server. So the old server was orginally name dfeesrv001, renamed to dfeesrv002 and the new server name dfeesrv001, same as the orginal server. Is it due to the fact that the it is trying to run on server 2008. The error we recieve from the clients is that they are unable to connect to the datastore. Information about the iplanner server software is as follows : AppName=Abacus Evolve I-Planner Serv CompanyName=Harcourt CompanyURL=www.harcourteducation.co.uk ErrorReportURL=http://www.installshield.com/isetup/ProErrorCentral.asp?ErrorCode=%d : 0x%x&ErrorInfo=%s MediaFormat=1 LogMode=1 Resource=_Setup.dll SmallProgress=Y SplashTime=5 CheckMD5=Y CmdLine= ShowPasswordDialog=N EngineVersion=10.0.0.159 EngineBinding=1 [Languages] Default=0x0009 count=1 key0=0x0009 Any help would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Chris Wade
sted Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 as far as i was aware it diddnt even install on 08 as its uses msde2000. If its working then you will need to reghack the clients to point at the new server can remember the exact location but its fairly obvious
