As a boy I had often wondered how this was achieved. I stumbled across this video this evening and though of posting it in case other Edugeekers had the same thoughts.

My 5 years old loves this programme, the golf ball one was on last week, think it was Thursday morning.

As a boy, the one I curiously cut open with the obligatory dodgy swiss army knife was more like a booby-trapped explosive nest of elastic band stuff. Not something I was minded to do ever again.

A school friend of mine told me that he was almost blinded by cutting open a golf ball: Apparently a 'liquid centre' squirted out and hit him in the face.

 

As you might guess I wasn't inclined to repeat his efforts having heard about his experiences.

I was always told it was explosive if you cut them open yet the have been cutting them open in DT depts for ages with no explosions yet...
