kevbaz Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hi folks, were having a problme with ours, it seems to be loosing its keystone setting everytime its turned off so everymorning it has to be reset. Anyone else having the same problem or have any ideas?
glennda Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I have only had mine delivered but at a guess as it was trying to auto correct the keystone when i was playing with it - do you need to disable this so that it just stays how its set rather then try to auto correct it now. Toby
Soulfish Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I had this issue and got a response from Casio very quickly . Apparently the first A140's were mis-programmed so the keystone wasn't applying correctly. The fix is find the correct keystone setting for your screen (i.e -10) and then set the keystone to the total opposite, so in this case +10. The screen will look weird but save that setting, switch the projector on and off and it'll work correctly. If you need anything else give Casio Support a call (0208 450 9131) - they were very helpful 1
kevbaz Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 just a quicke note to say the above fix worked
Soulfish Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 just a quicke note to say the above fix worked Glad I could help! When I phoned up Casio support the first thing they asked was "is it a keystone issue?" so I suspect they've had a few calls about it
quaium Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 We've got the same issue with the Casio XJ-A145 model. The strange thing is within the menu options there is an Auto Keystone on/off but it seems to be grayed out. The support line weren't much help. The fix above works but it would be nice to know why the menu option is grayed out.
Soulfish Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 When I phoned the Casio support line I got put through to Phil Clarke who I believe is their technical support lead/business development manager in the UK. If you have a problem may be worth asking for him? I don't think the issue was with auto keystone (although I wondered why that option was greyed out as well), but with the unit applying the opposite keystone to that which is saved. If you adjust the keystone by +/- 1 it suddenly springs into the correct keystone.
Tcsltd Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I have a guy from Casio coming in to see me in the next hour so if anyone has any issue's they would like me to ask him about let me know ASAP!
Ric_ Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 ... switch the projector on and off and it'll work correctly. Surely that would give a less than satisfactory image?
Soulfish Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Surely that would give a less than satisfactory image? Ok ok - it may not be great for image quality, however switching it off and then on should work
PaulLJ Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Just put up one of these projectors and the same thing has happened. I will try what you said here. A bit sad with such a new projector. I'm waiting for a reply from Casio. I'll try and post it here if I ever get one.
plexer Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I'd be wanting it replaced with one that is programmed correctly then or reprogrammed on site. Ben
PaulLJ Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Thank you for your email and for your interest in our products. You have contacted the European Support Center in Noderstedt, Germany. With regards to your question we would like to inform you the following: I got this back from casio. "We recommend contacting our U.K. CASIO distributor who takes care about product availability, knows where you can buy them and offer technical support in your area. http://www.casio-europe.com/euro/support/distributors/dp/" BTW the above fix seems to have solved the problem for the moment but I don't like the answer. Seems to be a bit of a Kludge to me. I certainly couldn't recommend one of these projectors until this has been sorted out.
jamesreedersmith Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 It is sorted in the newer model was just a glitch in the first batch and other than that its a fantastic projector!
