jamin100 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I know there was a thread recently Desire vs Iphone but this is a little different. Right I need to make a choice between the two . I can get the desire on a £25 per month contract - Great! OR The Legend on a £20 a month contract PLUS £150 cashback . . . What to do.. So far the only advantages to the Desire that I can see are the bigger screen and the faster processor. The desire is 1ghz where as the Legend is 600mhz. I prefere the look of the Legend to be honest but If i'm going to be keeping this phone for the next few years is it a better choice to go for the Desire Quick sums indicate the total cost of ownership on the length of the contract are as follows Desire = £600 Legend = £330 Is the extra speed bump and bigger screen worth £270 ??
featured_spectre Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 In short, yes. It also accepts 128gb flash cards compared to the 32gb flash cards that the legend takes. So you hve superior memory advantages. Along with the screen being bigger, it's also better in terns of depth of colour, resolution etc. So you gain there also. Also the sound output is better (according to various comparisons), so that too is another reason. But at the end of the day, it is down to you! I myself shall be getting the desire over the legend when my contract is up for renewal!
techy32 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Go for desire. No comparison between Desire & Legend. It depends upon how much you will use the phone and what will be the purpose. If it is just for calling then you can go for any phone and if for browsing ( which is obvious in your case ) then definitely go for desire. The work you can do in 5 minutes with desire will take at least 10 to 11 minutes to do it with Legend. Does £270 worth paying the speed of desire. The answer is YES a big YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I just love desire. I will go for it when I upgrade my contract. I will go for HTC incredible if it is better & faster than desire.
jamin100 Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 Well waiting on voda to call me back to see what they can offer me on the Desire. If they offer be the tariff below then i'll be all over it: HTC desire on Vodafone 18 months 600 mins Ultd txts Ultd internet (FUP 500mb) £20 for the first 15 months then £30 for the last 3 months, no cashback! OR a 24 month contract its £15 for the first 21 months. Brings the cost of the desire to just under £400

I've just ordered the Desire, looks like an awesome phone, but the maximum memory is 32gb, not 128gb (according to HTC's website)
jamin100 Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 Not too worried about the memory as the most i'll use is probably 2 GB anyway. I'n not going to be using it as a mp3 player as I use my Ipod classic for that... I think i'm leaning towards the legend to be honest. I just cant see the desire being worth that much more . .
Haptic Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Just FYI we can supply any of the HTC Range SIM Free

LosOjos Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 According to the sales guy I spoke with (from HTC) he said it takes 128gb, and utilises it fully. Then we have a contradiction! lol. I should be getting it in the next week so I'll shove in a 128gb card and see what happens (and of course let you know)
