Sylv3r Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) I've been away for a week or so and just logged onto Edugeek this morning. I noticed when I clicked on the 'new posts' option it stated that it was showing pages 1 / 5 at the top right hand corner of the page - which I thought was odd as I assumed they would be a lot more posts. After I had read the first page, I then clicked on next and then the counter moved up to 2 / 6 until I eventually read all 15 pages. I could be wrong, but I imagine it should have showed 1 / 15 initially the 2 / 15, 3 / 15 etc. Edited May 7, 2010 by ZeroHour
SpuffMonkey Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Just a small observation - when you're looking at "New Posts" - the page count (top right) displays "Page x of y" and then a small range of the pages available - the "y" figure which should show the total number of pages, only shows the number of the next page up from the top of the small range. eg - if there were 12 pages - the text says Page 1 of 5 and the range shows pages 1-4 as available, then when you're Page 2 it shows Page 2 of 6 (rather than 2 of 12) - hope you understand - very minor point - but thought you'd like to know.
leco Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 On further investigation, always like to research, the page range increments once on each next page. Page 1 of 5, Page 2 of 6, Page 3 of 7 etc. and on up to the last page. Mouse over the page number to give the number of posts on that page, 1 to 20 of, 21 to 40 of, 41 to 60 of, but does not show the totals after the "of".
ZeroHour Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 4.03 has been released, I am not sure if this is a bug or if its a result of the way vbulletin search works. I will see how 4.03 acts and also if anyone else has had the issue.
ZeroHour Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 vbulletin have said this is not a bug as such, more a limitation with the current vb4 search method. There is a new search engine coming which hopefully should help but for now there is nothing that can be done. Closing for now.
