GhostCast issues

I have an image that need to be put on 25 ThinkPad R500's.

 

I have spent the day using Ghost without a hicup, imaging 100 pc with the one image and having no problems at all.

 

I come to re-image out notebooks, which are fully charged and in working condition, no faults at all. I start off with one trolley (15) 9 of which fail and 5 just stall.

 

Next i just try five, each in an individual session and the time out, and not in order, i.e. 3,5,1,2,4.

 

I am using the same network points that were used with success the daybefore to reimage desktops, everything else is working fine.

 

Please does anyone know of any ideas?

Are you using unicast, multicast or broadcast?

 

When launching Ghost try using the option /fni so Ghost.exe -fni this sometimes helps with older model kit.

ThinkPads are IBM i presume, in my experience IBMs dont image with ghost very well. They have there own software availible from IBM but its not cheap

Typical, IBM making it hard to use their hardware again!

Bit of a pain but seems to work 99.999999999999 (dont know how to get the little dot above it!) is to pull the hard drives out and ghost them disk to disk using a usb to ide/sata converter (fast per image but slower as can only do 1 at a time).

Yes get onto the IBM website and find the NDIS driver out for the inbuilt NIC for them laptops and make a custom driver package for using with ghost. I think this is the one you will need Lenovo Support & downloads - Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Software for DOS - ThinkPad R500, R61, R61e, R61i

To sted and danrhodes: I have absolutely no idea what those commands mean, do i put this them in the command line server side?

 

plus i am just about to look into your option dan re the NDIS driver.

When they just stall is it when you boot into the disc then give it the session name to get? If it is, its your NIC drivers in most cases.
