  1. Awesome......sorry for the late reply..................I will certainly look into Impero. Cheers for all your help.
  2. We have a program called NetControl 2 installed on over 10 computers at a school to monitor whats going on. One of the issues we are facing is that the students have worked out that they can load their games (not allowed) and then pull the network cable out from the back of the desktop. I am looking for a solution that forces the computer to shut down when said plug has been pulled out, preferable one that can be deployed via group policy. Any ideas?
  3. I learnt to design in notepad and the notepad++ and I find myself increasing going back to the basic tools rather than using dreamweaver Its a much cleaner way to code, I just have my firefox with a bunch of colour pickers and rulers a nice fat folder with links to sites like w3c and a awesome copy of notepade ++. You need to know the basics of anything and coding esp
  4. ok i think i get it now. Thanks everyone for their help.
  5. I was thinking of the HTC option as it can be easily intergrated with windows and does a good job (dependant on model)of VoIP
  6. dependant on how many techs you had, for those onsite what about long distance cordless phones or VoIP phones, mainly if its just a telephone call. But you want email support as well i was going to suggest the blackberry, mainly the curve 8520 (no need for all the features of the bold) but it can prove quiet difficult to connect over secure wifi. even though their email is very good, i don't think you want to be making mobile calls, rather connecting them over your telephone system and turning them into VoIP phones as well ashaving a connection to a BES Express server. That is what i would do.
  7. To sted and danrhodes: I have absolutely no idea what those commands mean, do i put this them in the command line server side? plus i am just about to look into your option dan re the NDIS driver. cheers for the help to those who posted. will let you know how it goes!!!
  8. LOL don't you hate that!!!
  9. I have an image that need to be put on 25 ThinkPad R500's. I have spent the day using Ghost without a hicup, imaging 100 pc with the one image and having no problems at all. I come to re-image out notebooks, which are fully charged and in working condition, no faults at all. I start off with one trolley (15) 9 of which fail and 5 just stall. Next i just try five, each in an individual session and the time out, and not in order, i.e. 3,5,1,2,4. I am using the same network points that were used with success the daybefore to reimage desktops, everything else is working fine. Please does anyone know of any ideas?
  10. Yeah, i love it though............im a strong believer that kids are at school to learn and not play games. They have facebook at home, no need to be on it at school!
  11. Hi all, This being my first full time job in the IT industry. I am employed by the departyment of education here in Victoria working at a High school. I was employed as IT/Resources support but i has main come down to looking after about 175 desktops from hardware problems and purchasing software to just recently setting up two new lab for the art and music departments. I also do two days a week in the library where I have been given the nicknames "Scary Tech" and "Nazi" as i like to carry my netbook around and have the power to kick kids off the network if they are doing something the shouldn't as well as adding online proxy site to our proxy. Im fairly new to the industry but U have loved working with computer for about 10 years now. Just about to start studying again, working towards my CCNA (Security, VoIP), Comptia A+ and MSCE (Enterprise). Anyway off to work I go. Catch you all on the flip side. Plus I also run my own website.
