Openfiler — Openfiler - Open Source Storage Management Appliance never heard of it. basically i m sick of being annoyed by crappy nas boxes and im bored so im looking at setting up a pc as a nas with iscsi
LeMarchand Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 now i cant see how to use the rest of the disk as storage I found this guide very useful, though it still took a couple of reinstalls to get it right!
sted Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 I found this guide very useful, though it still took a couple of reinstalls to get it right! worked it out in the end and had it up and running fairly happily as a nas box and as an 100gb iscsi device drive z on my win7 box and file copies werent that slow 20mb /sec (500mb file that just happened to be on my desktop) and thats with the target pc having a pos 100mb realtek in it might have to do some proper work on freenas/iscsi over easter (along with 2008r2 ts and mst2010 and 2 server installs lol) after messing around im more convinced than before iscsi is a good way to go now just need to get a less rubbish test system and shove it in a school with an 08 server
