I hear there is one called Common Sence, it's free, quite easy to come by but it is rarely used.

 

Edit: or Common Sense even.

Don't worry, when an English teacher on SLT writes "You're tutor group will.." you know that there is no longer a need for correct grammar.

 

Tell me about it. I have a newly aquired 10 year old 'son' his teacher's grammar and spelling leaves a lot to be desired. On top of which he often sends homework that is nigh on immopsible for a 10 year old, working out areas that result in a decimal point. I worked it out for him and made sure he knew I had worked it out.

Blast those immopsible bits of homework! :)

 

( I also hate 'would of' and 'bored of' but they are definitely accepted now.)

Makes you wonder how often it goes unchecked in schools if most of the people using it think it is correct.

Thread going off track but.......... I recently stayed with an African family in S A frica. He, the father, was a teacher. His pet hate was 'different to'.
