StewartKnight Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Perhaps they should have ask Geoff how to do it first
Geoff Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Sounds like a project management failure to me. Sadly a common situation in government IT projects.
petectid Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I agree Geoff it’s often down to much discussion and not enough men out there getting the job done. Its no use talking about problems without acting on them, one part of the article that jumps off the page is the fact that a number was plucked out of the air for this OS rollout. Does the number of machines you wish to deploy not depend on the technicians you have with the experience and knowledge to support them.
Ric_ Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 You also notice how the guy that decided to move back to using MS products is now working for Capita... acoincidence? I'll let you decide!
mrforgetful Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 You're just cynics the lot of you! Microsoft foreveeeerrrr *goes to play with Vista and Office 2007*
bossman Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 More tax payers money wasted through incompetent beaurocrats in ivory towers, good ideas polaxed by these incompetent idiots who quite frankly couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. Logistics group probably made up from ex teachers hehe ;)
john Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 You're just cynics the lot of you! Microsoft foreveeeerrrr *goes to play with Vista and Office 2007* Yay a man after my own heart, I love playing with Vista and Office 2007, ace products from an Ace Company.
CyberNerd Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 hmm, you mean the same company that inspired the worst IT disaster of all time... http://www.baselinemag.com/article2/0,1540,2058194,00.asp
